Delegation from the Indian State of Gujarat to Meet Leading Companies and Senior Government Officials in South Africa and Kenya

• Government of Gujarat has institutionalized a biennial event “The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit” which offers a common platform for knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships and investment inflows
• As part of the international outreach programme, a high-level delegation will be visiting South Africa and Kenya on September 12-16, 2016

The Government of Gujarat State of India is organizing Vibrant Gujarat Promotional Road Shows at Cape Town, Johannesburg and Nairobi as part of its delegation visit to South Africa and Kenya respectively. The road show is aimed to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 and assist, strengthen sustainable economic and social development between the countries.
 
With the theme of “Gujarat - Connecting India to World”, the road show will feature various activities involving leading South African and Kenyan companies, Industry Associations and government officials, strengthening the cause of development and promote cooperation between South Africa and Kenya and the State of Gujarat. The delegates will also discuss some of the investor friendly policies, the perfect economic ecosystem and single window clearance procedures that Gujarat offers, making it one of the most sought after investment destination globally. Gujarat was also ranked number 1 in “Ease of Doing Business” in 2015 amongst all states of India in a joint study by the Government of India and World Bank.
 
A delegation of the Government of Gujarat officials and businessmen will be visiting Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria on September 12-14, 2016 and Nairobi on September 15-16, 2016 to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 and will meet the representatives of the Government of both the countries, various industries and businessmen. During this visit the delegation will also organize a roadshow to highlight growth prospects in Gujarat and the opportunities it has to offer for further enhancing bilateral trade.
 
Leader of the delegation, Mr. Punamchand Parmar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development and Urban Housing Department, Government of Gujarat, said, “Our delegation’s objective is to strengthen relationship of South Africa and Kenya with India, where Gujarat will play an important part by offering avenues across various sectors to further enhance business relationships between the two countries. The Government of Gujarat will assist investors in strengthening their business prepositions and investments in India via Gujarat.”
 
The flagship event, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will enter its 8^th edition being organized from 10-13 January 2017 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. The Summit will bring together Heads of States and Governments, Ministers, leaders from the corporate world, senior policy makers, heads of international institutions and academia from around the world to further the cause of development and promote cooperation.
