Wayanad is one of the prominent tourist destinations in the north eastern part of Kerala. It�s in the southern tip of the Deccan Plateau and a part of the Western Ghats that lies in Wayanad. Towards the centre of the district height of the hills are lower but towards the north hills are higher.The importance of Wayand culturally and historically linked with its pilgrimage centres. The second largest hill in Wayanad is Banasura hill. Banasura sagar dam is at the foot of the hill. One can start trekking up Banasura hill from the dam.
